Delaware County
Library System Tour Continues...
It is well known that this Marvin project (which keeps evolving)
was influenced by involvement in my local U.D. Primos Library.
Time spent there planted the seed for
The Marvin's Big Adventure Reading Program.

That is why I am working to have
Marvin's Big Adventure A Dream Come True
in permanent collection in all 26 libraries in the
Delaware County System so everyone in our community can enjoy Marvin's stories.

With that being said here is where we are so far.
THIS MAP REPRESENTS

We are so happy to announce that the
Medical Camp missionaries are
safely back from Kenya.

When I began writing the Marvin books in 2011,
I never would have imagined that they would cross
the Atlantic Ocean and be shared with children in another part of the world.

When I found out that members of my church were going to Kenya to conduct medical camps to the residents I felt a tug at my heart to get involved.

With that, I connected with my friend Lucy Kibe and
supplied her with copies of my books for the children.
Above are some pictures of the missionaries reading Marvin's Big Adventure
to the children in an orphanage in Nakuru.
The children loved the stories and the missionaries were delighted to be able to provide a memorable experience.

In addition to copies of Marvin's Big Adventure and Marvin's Christmas Wish we were able to provide funding for additional books and
school supplies.

And, as a special surprise 'KENNY' the monkey our
'Good Will Ambassador' for the Marvin program
will be staying permanently
to continue the message of FRIENDSHIP
and LOVE to the children in the orphanage.

I was also excited to hear that the stories were
read in both English and Swahili. ‪

MARVIN'S BIG ADVENTURE
GOES
INTERNATIONAL
Christen Cooper is a professional
photographer, and graphic artist.  When her
son Jacob was born in 2006, she committed to
teaching him a love for books so they became regulars
at their local library.  Over the years Christen's enjoyment for children’s books grew along with her sons.
A few years later, when her son was in kindergarten a chance arose to bring his favorite stuffed buddy Marvin the monkey to school.  What started as a simple adventure story for her young son to capture the magic of being 5, has since grown into a three book series and award winning program for children.

Since 2012, Christen has published three books
in the Marvin series and has developed an award winning reading enrichment program which focuses on early literacy and movement exercises to promote positive behavior for children 3 to 9 years old.
Themes focus on robust vocabulary, kindness,  friendship, acceptance and dreaming big.

To date, Christen has read to
thousands of children throughout the Delaware
County and beyond. Currently the Marvin books are in permanent collection in more than half of the 26 libraries in Delaware County.

And now, the
'MARVIN GIVES BACK'
Program is Reaching Children all across the GLOBE!
